We are excited to share that Kristin Kane will be joining us and sharing her knowledge and experiences with you and your children.  Dyslexic herself, Kristin has made amazing strides for our community working tirelessly to make life a little better each day for kids labeled with LD.

Kristin Kane is the mother of three and has a BS in Psychology from Kutztown University. She is an active advocate for children with dyslexia and other learning disabilities in the Virginia public schools and the Washington DC area.  Kristin helped found the Decoding Dyslexia Virginia movement and the #SayDyslexia Rally held on Capitol Hill.
Kristin collaborates with other parents, educators, school administrators and organizations such as Understood, the National Center for Learning Disabilities and the International Dyslexia Association on parent outreach and education efforts.
Kristin is a Loudon County, VA Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) Executive Board Member and has participated as a parent with the VA State SEAC.
Upon being certified as a Parent Collaborative leader through the Virginia Parent Educational Advocacy Training Center (PEATC) in June of 2014, she knew that the philosophy and mission of the Virginia Parent Training and Information Center was a place she could help make a positive difference in the lives of Virginia’s families with special needs.
